Anne has been a teacher and director of Dolley Madison Preschool since 1976. She is a native Washingtonian, a graduate of Sidwell Friends School and the University of Maryland. She holds a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and an M. Ed. in Human Growth and Development from the Institute for Child Study at University of Maryland.

At Dolley Madison Preschool, we have a wonderful staff of caring individuals who genuinely enjoy children and are dedicated to nurturing each child's intellectual, emotional, social and physical needs. Many of our teachers have either a bachelors or masters degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Human Growth and Development. They all are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) - Northern Virginia and SACUS. In addition, our staff regularly participate in continuing education workshops and seminars and are first aid and CPR certified. Our school encourages open communication and parent involvement, part of which is met through yearly parent/teacher conferences. To meet individual child development needs, we maintain a low child-to-staff ratio. We are proud to say our staff collectively has over 150 years of teaching at Dolley Madison.
